In my pedigree the characteristics i chose to do was hair color and eye color. Everyone in my family has brown eyes. In my family there is a mix of hair colors. The hair colors in my family are light brown, brown, and dark brown. There are 10 family members in my pedigree, including me. A pedigree is a useful tool to use while studying genetics because you can see what genes are passed down from generation to generation. For example, if a family has an illness,scientist can see what generation the sickness or illness developed. The dominant trait is brown hair and the recessive is dark brown. I think brown hair is the dominant trait because if you look at my mom and dad they have different hair colors which means the offspring color is the dominant trait which all of my sisters and I have Brown hair. For the eye color it is unknown, because everyone has the same eye color.
